Florida or bust

A Happy Baby

Someone was in a *very* happy mood tonight. Lots of laughs and giggles.

He is so intense when he concentrates on something.

Here is Ayden laughing so hard he can't stand up... although he hasn't quite figured out how to do the all out barrel laugh.... the noises he does make sounds like he is a small dinosaur --- (Jeremy, this was about 30 minutes after you spoke with Kate when he woke up from a little nap, and obviously woke up very happy.)

Jen and I took a little weekend away and spent some time in Scottsdale, AZ this weekend. Now that we are back I should have more photos later in the week. (Carrie and Cathi -- sorry for the delay of photos) ;)


For the first time, Ayden sat in a high chair at a restaurant tonight. He looked like such a big boy, but at the same time looked so small in the high chair as he was padded with extra blankets to keep from wobbling around.

I said goodbye to Jennifer this morning before I left for school, and then when I returned from school she was still here. Her flight was cancelled so she is stuck in Yuma for another day --- ok by me, and one more day of sun for her.

My friend Jen came to visit and arrived yesterday... this is her official picture on the blog after meeting the "little man." It is so nice to have a friend here finally!!! Its been a long time since I have seen a Michigan face.

Jen is getting a crash course on the life of a baby..... she is t-minus 20 weeks until she gets to have one of her own!

Yesterday we all needed to get out of town for a while and distract ourselves with a little retail therapy. Twenty minutes into California, the back tire blew out on Kate's car. All we can say is God Bless AAA. Not a great way to start a shopping trip.
I don't really know the safety rules for when your tire blows out on the highway, but something told us that keeping an infant in the car while semi trucks blow by at 70mph wasn't the best choice so while we waited for the tow truck we hung out a little ways down the embankment. This is Kate and our friend Ali, and yes, Ayden is in there somewhere. Good thing it was a cool windy day as we hung out in the desert for 40 minutes.

By the time we got to El Centro we needed lunch. Ayden is not quite big enough for the high chair, but feels important hanging with the adults.

After a long eventful day, this was how Ayden looked on the drive home.

Rolling Over

We finally caught Ayden rolling over... so here he is, however I have no idea how to flip the image, so I apologize for this being sideways. Does anyone know how to rotate videos? Let me know if you do.

(rough translation, "I am tired. So tired I am just going to stare and make sleepy noises")

Let the countdown begin. Jeremy has officially left, so the countdown until he returns Oct./Nov. has begun. Kate heard from him this afternoon and he made it to the east coast where they will hop another plane to Germany, and then head into Iraq.

Also, I forgot to mention last week what kind of tank we were talking about when we refer to Ayden growing so much. He is now 15 lbs. 13 oz. and 27 inches long..... and growing every minute.

His lucky charms

Some people Kate teaches swimming lessons to had a birthday party and a gymnastic playland last week and Ayden had a blast with all the colors and commotion going on around him.

Like the picture above, Jeremy was in the foam pit and this was the picture he got looking up at Ayden.

Another first, just before dad left... the little man learned to sit up on his own. Perhaps only for a few seconds at a time, but he did it.

Two more things. 1-Jeremy will have Internet access while he is gone so he will be able to stalk Ayden like the rest of you through this website. So feel free to leave messages for him in the comment section. 2-For those of you who didn't remember, AZ is the crazy state that doesn't participate in daylight savings time so we are now back on Pacific time --- three hours behind EST.

Ayden is trying to wake up here, but he just wasn't quite ready.

Ayden wanted to do a couple of his "firsts" this week before dad left, so here is Ayden getting rice cereal for the first time. He did very well with it.

A little good news around here, Jeremy gets to have a few extra days at home, his new date for leaving is Monday, March 10. You can tell how excited Ayden is...

Prayers

The latest update, Jeremy is schedule to leave the end of this week for Iraq. Any extra prayers you can send I am sure will be needed and appreciated for the Osbornes.

And while you are at it, this is Carrie's new secret weapon for her senior year polo season. She broke her pinkie (again) in the second game of the season. We are all hoping a praying for a quick recovery so she get get back to her team before the end of the season.

Lots to be thankful for, and lots to pray for.
