Man Day

Ayden and dad had "man day" today so Kate and I could go see a movie.

Now that I am back, here are a few pictures to catch you up. It's been a fun week for Ayden and Jeremy to just play. Here is Ayden's first experience with spaghetti.

We make this grand announcement that Ayden is walking, and then I don't post anything for almost a week. I am sorry to all you faithfuls out there.

It has been a pretty rough week around here, and maybe a baby blog isn't the place to share this, but I think it's important to pass along this information. This week we lost a student at my school. He died of a head injury when a free standing soccer goal post fell on him during recess. Please be aware of how dangerous these goal posts can be and conscious of what can happen. Many of you that read this are teachers, or parents, or in general around kids, and I wanted to pass this along so that you think twice about something that seems so harmless. These soccer goals are everywhere and not necessarily something that need to be removed from schools or parks, but we all just need to know what can happen. Pass this information along to anyone who could benefit from knowing about this tragic accident.

We have a walker!! Now you man not believe us, because naturally we can't catch it on video, at least more than two or three steps, but mark it in the books, ten months old and he is walking.

A trip gone wrong

In an effort to make the last part of this deployment go by a bit quicker, and to get out of the heat, we had this grand idea to head over the mountains to San Diego for the weekend. We had great intentions of taking Ayden to the SD Zoo, going swimming, shopping, and anything else that didn't include 115 degree heat. Well, that didn't happen. To spare you the details, I got terribly sick the minute we arrived and spent the whole weekend in the hotel room with a stomach bug. K and A got another room in the effort to stay healthy and to top everything off, when they got back from going to the zoo they said it was awful... hot and humid and most of the main animals were taken off display for the day. Seriously, who takes all the main animals down on a holiday weekend? Talk about NOTHING going as planned.

So here we are, back in Yuma, in the heat, with not even any great pictures from the zoo to show for our weekend gone wrong. The only thing left is hoping this is the month Jeremy comes home, that is something to look forward to.
