Trip to Maui- Views from the balcony

These pictures were taken off the back balcony, and we even were able to see a double rainbow on one evening! It was truly breathtaking...

You pay significantly less to have an *ocean view* rather than an *ocean front* view... I think I found other things to spend the $$ on! :)

Back to Reality

We've had a great week in Maui, and have experienced many of the wonderful things the island has to offer. Here is a photo I took while snorkeling off the coast. I will post several more pictures when we get settled back into reality. Have a great weekend everyone!

Ahh....Technology

Isn't technology grand? K and J are in paradise. Ayden is in Michigan. Aunt Carrie sent the pictures to me (Heather) and I am posting from AZ.

I am just the messenger for these photos... but this first one speaks 1,000 words, doesn't it? According to Aunt Carrie, Ayden was picked up at the park by this outgoing little one.

Beaufort Pirate Invasion

This past weekend we took Ayden to the Beaufort NC Pirate Invasion reenactment. The story goes: "On June 14 of 1747 several Spanish privateers (privately owned warships with a government sponsored license to attack enemy shipping) from St. Augustine entered Beaufort harbor and made off with several small ships. At the time a militia of only 13 men were posted in the town to protect the area. The Spanish easily escaped. Only two months later on August 26 the Spanish privateers reappeared. Their intention this time was to take the town. Major Enoch Ward and fifty-eight militiamen responded but were driven from the town. The citizens fled leaving behind everything for the privateers to pillage. Three days later Colonel Thomas Lovick and Major Ward had collected more men and counterattacked, driving the Spanish out. It is said that without the help of close to 100 farmers and locals, the militia may not have prevailed."

Spill Proof Bubbles

Ayden loves bubbles, and recently we bought a large spill proof container. Anything to keep him busy while I'm trying to make dinner.... :)
