Hi all, its Heather. I told Kate how impressed we have been with her frequent postings lately, but now I get to take over for a few days :)  I took Ayden to see a historic train engine on display and he thought he had taken a long flight from NC and arrived in Heaven. What fun it has been to have my little love bugs here for a visit.

In the train bed

Ayden loves his little sister, and when I put her in his train bed for a few quick photos, he thought that was especially fantastic. She lasted a few minutes and and quickly decided that she had enough. It was very sweet to see Ayden so excited about sharing his beloved train bed with his little sister:)

Ayden continuously makes us laugh, here is the latest story in the Ayden Archives...

Jeremy: "Ayden do you know where we are going on Wednesday?"

Ayden: "Yes I do."

Jeremy: "Where?"

Ayden: "To party with Tia."

Apparently it's always a party when Tia is around! :) Heather, you better be ready, Ayden thinks we're having a party at your house... :) Can't wait!

Go Fish!

Ayden was teaching Kinnley to play one of his favorite games. Go fish! After a few minutes, and she was getting fussy Ayden said: "Mommy, how about I get Kinnley her own fishy game or something?" I think he was over the crying.... :)

Jeremy caught Kinnley sleeping making sure her bear was still right next to her. Very sweet!

I am that Mom...

So my sister (Heather) and I were talking the other day... And the long and the short of it is, Yes I am that Mom! :) I'm going to share this with you all as part of another New Year's Resolution to laugh at myself a little more frequently... So here goes... When Ayden or rather slightly before Ayden was born Heather and I loved to go to movies... and every single time we went we would comment about the vast number of parents that would bring their very young children or babies to seemingly "Adult" films (and by adult I mean having a PG-13 or higher rating). Both of us vowing to never bring the babies to a movie... Well, last weekend, we took Ayden and yes Kinnley to a movie. Albeit Gnomeo and Juliet, but non-the-less I took my infant to a movie... Nothing like having another baby that makes you question the *parenting absolutes* that you followed for your first child. Oh well, I guess there will be many more *rules* that I will break on this journey. My only disclaimer was that the movie I broke the rule for, was in fact a children's movie... :) How about you? Anyone reading this want to share a rule broken from child number 1 to child number 2?

My Cheeks are Just too Heavy!

We are in trouble!

So I just have to share a story with all of you loyal followers... Ayden has be asserting his independence lately with us, quite specifically explaining exactly how he feels about certain situations. A few weeks ago, after he got into trouble for running on the furniture, he said to Jeremy: "Daddy I'm going to get you fired." We found it amusing at the time, although tried (very hard) not to let him think it was funny. Well yesterday when Jeremy when to school to pickup Ayden his teacher informed him that Ayden said he was going to get her fired. Clearly as a *concerned* parent I needed to put a stop to this. So our conversation went like this:

Me: "Ayden, did you tell your teacher you were going to get her fired today?"

Ayden: "Yes"

Me: "Which teachers did you say that to?"

Ayden: "Mrs. Alma, Mrs. Jennifer, Mr. Al"

Jeremy: "Who is Mr. Al?"

Me: "The director of the CDC"

Jeremy and I: Couldn't get a word out for fear of laughing to hard..

We are in trouble!

Grammy Visits in the Snow

Grammy was finally able to come for a quick visit! In between the town shutting down because of snow. No I'm not kidding... this area COMPLETELY SHUTS DOWN when there is a threat of snow. The fact that we've had a few storms with a couple of inches of accumulation on the ground this year has meant all the locals get pretty nervous about driving in the snow.

I'm pretty sure this picture is going to send Ayden into therapy for many, many years. But obviously he is quite aware that his baby sister needs milk from Mommy. He grabbed the nursing shields that I use to pump milk.... :) It was hilarious!
