I had to share this with you all... hopefully it will make you smile.
You all may or may not know that as of today, Kate and Jeremy are struggling to come up with a name for "babyO." As they put it, they are waiting to be "inspired." So in the spirit of inspiration I gave my students a writing prompt today that hopefully will help. On the front board, I wrote the following prompt:
"Dear Mr. and Mrs. Osborne,
Your sister, Ms. Willison told our class that you were going to have a new baby boy. I think you should name him _________ because..........."
Here are the results... you may agree with some of the students, others, well, you decide.
Sammy (2)
Fernin Brian Jesus (my personal favorite)
Jackson
Allan
Anthony (3)
Carlitos (my second favorite)
Sebastion (2)
Alexis (2)
Jonathan
Jose'
Alex (2)
Brian
Joseph (this name was nominated because this was supposed to be Lourdes' name, but she was born a girl instead)
Roberto
Malcom
Kevin
Ian
In the event that Kate and Jeremy are inspired by one of these names, the baby can grow up knowing that a third grader in the border town of San Luis helped name him :)

As most of these names reflect the heritage of the region, I'm all for bringing the name back to the midwest or at least a little further east. My next door neighbors have had great looking kids using Vowel names ie Avarie, Evan, and (while I thought they should have continued with Ivy) Ella. The girl names are out, but I really like Evan. Or there's always Ivan or Ulysses.

Jeremy Paul, was almost "Anthony" or Tony as his sister called for 9 months before he was born. Looks like it is 4 votes for Tony.
Ok, my office loves the baby blog and they just had to add some names to the list:
Brent, Brett, Paul David, Jon Thomas, Kyle, Kevin and Matt.
Whatever name sticks, he will still be one lucky little boy!
Love Ya,
Mom
I love the name Jackson, but spell it Jaxson! Jaxson Osborne has a ring to it.
