I am that Mom...

So my sister (Heather) and I were talking the other day... And the long and the short of it is, Yes I am that Mom! :) I'm going to share this with you all as part of another New Year's Resolution to laugh at myself a little more frequently... So here goes... When Ayden or rather slightly before Ayden was born Heather and I loved to go to movies... and every single time we went we would comment about the vast number of parents that would bring their very young children or babies to seemingly "Adult" films (and by adult I mean having a PG-13 or higher rating). Both of us vowing to never bring the babies to a movie... Well, last weekend, we took Ayden and yes Kinnley to a movie. Albeit Gnomeo and Juliet, but non-the-less I took my infant to a movie... Nothing like having another baby that makes you question the *parenting absolutes* that you followed for your first child. Oh well, I guess there will be many more *rules* that I will break on this journey. My only disclaimer was that the movie I broke the rule for, was in fact a children's movie... :) How about you? Anyone reading this want to share a rule broken from child number 1 to child number 2?

My walking partners taught me when the girls were young - Never say never. Just when you think you will not ever do something, circumstances change - and you do. So, yes, laugh, and never say never.

(I would never buy my kids a car - but I did!)

Your *only* out on this one is that it was a G rated movie.... I'll give you that :) Way to own up to it - just don't suck me in to your 'ways' when you move here!! Love the post.

Just wait until #3 - it is like there are no rules anymore! I like to think it makes her and us more flexible, but really there are times I question myself. Like when all three are sleeping in the car and I have to carry them in...which one do you take first?

Sending our love! I am literally counting down the days until Florida. Ask anyone - all I talk about is how I cannot wait to get to Florida for spring break! I am starting to bore myself.

xxoo,
Sarah

When I was at my class reunion last year, this was the topic of conversation. Everyone had stories about how much more relaxed they were with each child. One of my friends that had 3 children said one day she was cooking dinner and her youngest was eating out of the dog dish. She said she actually had the thought "I guess I won't have to cook as much now".
